Going to Glenmoor - Mission Accomplished
The Chubb Collector Car team has returned home from the weekend at the Glenmoor Gathering. Our round-trip journey in a 1960 MGA 1600 was completed this evening when the little British roadster pulled into the Chubb driveway at about 7:00 PM. Those who were hoping for drama-filled mechanical failures will be disappointed to hear that the MGA performed admirably. All she asked for was a half quart of oil each morning, and we were rewarded with 1,000 miles of trouble-free driving.
We arrived at the Concours event early afternoon on Saturday, and while our MGA was far beneath the stature of the show cars, we were thrilled to be asked to park our car on the front lawn of the country club.
On Sunday, the day of the main event, we tucked the car safely away behind a garage so we could spend our time hosting guests of Chubb at our hospitality tent. The slot car track in our tent was enjoyed by car fans of all ages.
The show was a huge success, with nearly 200 of the most unique cars in the country on display for the thousands of visitors to enjoy.
On Monday morning, we packed up our MGA, bid farewell to our friends at Glenmoor, and completed the 500 mile journey back to New Jersey.
It was an incredibly memorable weekend, and we're proud that we were able to demonstrate how much Chubb wants its customers to enjoy their classic cars. Historic cars are meant to be driven, especially when they can handle a thousand mile trip as smoothly as an MGA.
