The "Big" healey - Austin Healey 3000
British Motor Corporation went for a big power increase with this model, which replaced 100-6. They also streamlined production by moving to the MG plant in Abingdon. The big Healey's engine capacity increased to 2.9 liters, and heralded the 3000 moniker. Standard front disc brakes were featured on this more powerful version, though overdrive was optional. Both two- and four-seater versions were available. Other options included wire wheels, laminated windshield, heater, adjustable steering column, removable hard-top, and the two-tone paint scheme that so many fans identify with Austin-Healey.

This Austin Healey was made in comparatively large numbers, however prices continue to climb above $65,000 for well-restored examples. If you can find an affordable one, buy it - you'll be making an investment. We'll be aiding your search for one of these classic British roadsters later in the week.
