1966 Shelby 427 SC Replica

What would AC Month be without a tribute to the most replicated car of all time?  If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, than the AC Ace should be blushing bright red. Head over to any automotive classified either in print or on-line and you will see a myriad of replica and kit Cobras for sale all over the country. Some done well, some done stunningly. Today we've found you one of the stunners.  This is a replica of a 1966 Shelby 427 SC made by Shell Valley. The car was found for sale here on eBay Motors. Let's have a look at what the seller has to say:

This vehicle is featured in the QA1 performance catalog and is brilliant red/ivory stripes.  The car was built with the original COBRA specifications in mind.  The powerplant consists of a balanced 428FE with Edlebrock heads; Ford aluminum intake; Harland Sharp roller rockers; solid lifters; TRW pistons; Eagle H beam ESP rods; Comp cam and pushrods; ARP engine bolts; dual holley 4bbl carburetors; remote dual oil filter system; and MSD ignition. It produces 500+ horsepower and 500+ ft/lbs torque but is still a very reliable driver.  The gear train includes a Ford Toploader 4 speed; Centerforce clutch; Narrowed 9" Ford rear-end with Detroit locker and 3.89:1 gears.  The chassis boasts QA1 coil over suspension with compression and rebound adjustments; 17" Custom Halabrand-style wheels with Trigo knock-offs; Dunlop performance tires[Front: 275/40ZRx17, Rear: 315/35ZRx17].  The cockpit includes full leather seats, door panels and dashboard; heater system; and Moto-Lita style hardwood steering wheel.

So while the real thing can fetch over $250,000, a replica such as this would surely provide much of the same excitement. Some would argue that you'd never drive the real thing so this is actually more attractive. With over 500hp, we're sure you'll feel a kick in the seat that would keep you smiling for days. So if you're in the market for a performance roadster, consider a replica Cobra. They are very abundant and reasonably priced. If this one ends up in your garage, let us know.
