1949 Cadillac Fleetwood For "Sail"
The headline is not a typo. This one is a boat from Detroit! Surprisingly, there's a good number of old Cadillacs for sale on the web these days. Pre-1950 examples are a bit harder to find than the 1950's and 60's models but they're out there if your willing to look. This week we've dug deep looking for a nice example of a Fleetwood. What we've come up with is a very nice 1949 Cadillac featured on Cadillac Dreams out of Ft. Lauderdale.
Wrapped in dark blue and floating on cushy white walls, this Caddy is pure American class from the golden age. The chrome appears to be very bright and the panels straight. If you've been looking for a big old boat to take out on the weekends, this is worth considering. If you're already a collector but only have small two-seat or "barely back seat' classic cars in your collection, this Fleetwood would be a great addition. Just think, with this car, you could bring five of your closest friends to the local cruise night - something you simply can't do with a Giulia Spyder. Car collecting is about sharing what you have and old sleds like this don't disappoint. There's plenty of car to love front and back. With a cabin this large, you can see why post-war Cadillac owners never craved a third row and cup-holders. If you're concerned about trunk size, fear not - its is so big, the spare stands upright. The full collection of photos can be seen here.
Will this Fleetwood end up in your garage? If so, the entire Chubb Collector Car team wants to come along for the ride!
