Alfa-Romeo Duetto
Now that the Scottsdale excitement has come and gone, we turn our focus back to Alfa-Romeo Month! Today we present you with the late 1960s Alfa-Romeo Duetto. Lets have a look at what made this car a classic:

Replacing the earlier Giulia Spider, the Duetto was the last major member of the Giulia 105 family. Styling was by Pininfarina. With its 112 horsepower 1,579cc twin-cam engine, the 1966-1969 Duetto was a good performer, a delicate handler and a safe braker thanks to four wheel discs.
All Duettos had the 'coda lunga' boat-tail treatment and the model was officially renamed after 18 months as the spider 1750, but the Duetto name stuck until the next generation arrived. Spider 1750 cars received the 1,779cc SPICA fuel-injected engine for the North American market. Many SPICA-equipped cars have been retrofitted with side-draft Weber carburetors. All boat-tail Alfa spiders carried 5-speed transmissions and 4-wheel disc brakes.
As previously discussed, rust is an issue with Alfa Romeos, and every car should be carefully inspected for rot in the rocker panels and windshield area.
Duettos are among the most beautiful Alfas on the market, and they command top prices in good condition. Overall the car gets three our of four stars for reliability, maintenance costs and parts/support. This classic car earns four out of five stars for market appeal and top examples can go for $25,000 and beyond.
