California Gullwing

You may be surprised to know that finding a Gullwing for sale isn't that tough of a challenge. However, finding a worthy Gullwing certainly is. For this week's pick, we wanted an example in as close to pure form as we could find. Listed on Hemming's Classifieds is this beautiful, yet original, 1956 300SL Gullwing.

 

 

The listing claims this car has spent it's life in California and has been owned by the same gentleman since 1972. The car certainly has the patina of an "original" and surprisingly, it appears to be a complete package. The photos indicate the car comes with a partial tool kit, extra steering wheel, owner's manual, parts manual, and service manual.  This Gullwing would be a perfect candidate for a restoration and could easily become a 100 point, show winning vehicle.
